1 tbsp active dry yeast
¼ cup sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 tbsp canola oil
5 cups flour
Pan spray
Instructions
- Heat your water to 110°F, using an instant read thermometer to measure the temperature. It’s VERY important the water is hot enough to awaken your yeast’s inner beast.
- In mixing bowl add 1 cup water, 1 cup of flour, and yeast. Let mixture stand for 15 minutes.
- Setting the electric mixer on stir, add sugar, salt, and canola oil then add remaining flour.
- Stir until combined, then increase to medium speed and mix for 5 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the mixing bowl.
- Spray the mixing bowl with some pan spray, then return the dough to the mixing bowl.
- Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 2 hours. The dough should grow to double its original size.
- After 2 hours, take the dough and split it into 2 even amounts.
- On lightly floured counter, roll both balls of bread dough into a flat oval. Then, roll up like a burrito and transfer to a bread baking pan.

- Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until the bread has reached 195°F inside.
- Remove from oven and let rest in pan for 20 minutes and then remove to cool on rack or pan.
- Store in an airtight container, place in an easily accessible area for easy access to this comforting, carb-filled goodness, and slice as needed.
